Our client is a global leader in the production of raw materials for the aerospace and power generation industries. Their Birmingham facility is at the heart of our operations, driving excellence and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our clients worldwide.

They are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Planning to join their team. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production planning, ensuring efficient use of resources, and meeting their customers' demands with precision and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the development communication and implementation of an effective SIOP process for the UK business ensuring alignment of demand, capacity, and lead time management for all product lines.
  • Develop and analyse appropriate internal business KPI’s, and subsequent action plans to achieve world class performance.
  • Develop and implement a standardised planning system that encompasses the entire UK value stream.
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory management, including raw materials, WIP, stock and finished goods.
  • Responsible, in partnership with Operations Management and Quality and Technical, for the selection, planning and ongoing management of external supply chain functions.
  • Responsible for developing the lowest possible cost production routes, in conjunction with Operations Management and CI teams.
  • Leverages group resources to identify and deploy strategic projects to improve productivity and material cost reductions.
  • Reviews and analyses customer requirements in conjunction with sales, actively developing cross functional plans to service evolving demands.
  • Will be required to report and effectively interact “upwards” in the organisation, including COO and CEO levels within the organisation.
Qualificaitions & Experience
  • A proven leader, capable of effective situational leadership to empower the team – How would you describe your management style?
  • Strong analytical skills, “converts data to information to problem to solution”
  • Builds strong inter-plant functional teams and develops talent to create effective succession plans.
  • Proficiency in planning software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
