Brook Street Ltd is pleased to announce a temporary available position within the National Probation Service, based primarily in the Basingstoke office with occasional assignments at the Aldershot office. This role is a full-time, on-site temporary contract with a standard schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, including a 1-hour lunch break. Additional shifts until 7:00 PM or 9:00 PM may be required on a rota basis.
Role Details:
- Hourly Rate: £11.44 per hour
- Location: Primarily Basingstoke's Probation Service (St Clement House, RG21 7SB), with potential assignments in Aldershot office (Imperial House, GU11 1DP). Travel expenses to Aldershot will be reimbursed.
- Schedule: Standard hours are 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Occasional evening shifts until 7:00 PM or 9:00 PM on a rotational basis.
- Duration: Until the end of August with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Providing essential administrative support to ensure smooth operations at both the Basingstoke and Aldershot Probation offices.
- Following set procedures and exercising independent judgement under general supervision.
- Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Answering calls on a busy reception from various agencies, including people on probation.
- Scanning documents and updating offender records.
- Signing in visitors.
- Reporting maintenance jobs.
- Adhering to building health and safety protocols.
- Performing ad-hoc administrative tasks for Probation Practitioners and Managers.
Requirements:
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to adapt to various software and systems.
- Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, visitors, and agency representatives.
- Organisation and Time Management: Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and work efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer Service Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role is desirable, demonstrating your ability to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
