Role: Electrical Project Coordinator

Reporting To: Electrical Engineering Manager

Job Description:

Your role is to work closely with the Electrical Engineering Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Electrical Design Team and Electrical Assembly Team. Overseeing and maintaining the work schedule and managing resource.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Managing Schedule
  • Communicate design dates to project engineers and manufacturing for new workload.
  • Plan the design team workload to ensure all designers know what they should be working on and to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Plan the assembly team workload to ensure all technicians know what they should be working on and to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Identify issues with capacity and initiate recruitment of permanent and contract design and assembly resource.
  • Communicate and discuss delays/changes to schedules with project engineers and manufacturing.
  • Provide dates to sales and operations management for upcoming design work to facilitate leadtime planning.
  • Arrange resource for urgent snagging/site support.
  • Ensure dispatch deadlines are met for equipment manufactured by the electrical assembly team.
  • Attend business progress meetings.

Other Duties

  • Identify ways to improve departmental efficiencies.
  • Support Electrical Engineering Manager with other tasks as required.
  • As with any new role, the role will need to be reviewed as it develops. It would be expected that you would be proactive in suggesting ways to develop and improve the role.

Qualities/Skills:

  • Resource planning experience
  • Highly organised and a good communicator - able to share information, provide support and work well with all other members of the business.
  • Competent with MS Office Suite, particularly MS Project Excel
  • To have an understanding of general engineering principles.

Usual Place of Work

As this role involves in person coordination with multiple onsite departments, this is an office-based role at our Gamlingay factory. This role is not suitable for working from home.

Hours

First over the suggested role could be done part time (25 hours p/w), with a preference to 5 hours each day Mon-Fri. Core meetings would need to be attended (currently: Monday AM companywide production meeting, and Thursday AM project department meeting). The hours are negotiable.
