My client who are based in Aylesbury are seeking a Qualified Accountant who loves the detail, is excellent with systems, has a flair for reconciliations, is focused on process improvement and is also a great people manager!

This Financial Controller position allows the successful candidate the flexibility of agile working, but you must be able to attend the office one day a week.

Overall purpose of the role will be the day-to-day management of the finance team and to ensure the groups cash flow management, general ledger and financial systems are accurate.

Main duties include:

  • Annual statutory accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Work with Treasury team to oversee daily and medium term cash flows
  • Review monthly payroll reconciliations
  • Preparation and submission of tax returns
  • VAT returns
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Registers
  • Manage creditor payments
  • Oversee General Ledger
  • Ensure the supplier payment procedures and controls are maintained to ensure suppliers are paid promptly
  • Lead and motivate a team
  • Stakeholder relationships with key partners internally and externally

Key requirements for the role:

The client is seeking a technically strong Qualified Accountant with relevant industry experience in a Housing Association, Social Housing or Not for profit organisation.

You will need a practical understanding of internal controls and experience of dealing with both internal and external auditors. It is essential that you have experience of managing a team and the ability to build strong relationships.
