Electrical Maintenance Engineer

The Role

This position is working for a leading manufacturer within a process-based industry who have a strong reputation which reflects on their commitment to quality at all levels from design, manufacture and delivery. They are looking for an electrically biased maintenance engineer, ideally with a 70:30 split, who can work across their 3-shift system. This is very much a reactive role, with planned maintenance also involved.

Main Responsibilities

• Fault finding during production.
• Reactive maintenance on the machinery.
• Performing planned and predictive maintenance.
• Assessing need of spare parts.
• Undertake effective planning and prioritisation of workload wherever necessary.
• Ensure that resources are used to optimum effect.
• Understand and operate in line with relevant legislation, Company policy and Company procedures.
• Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business.
• Maintain the required standards of housekeeping.
• Support other teams and functions as required by the business.
• Undertake self-development activities as required by the business.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.
• Liaise with Coordinator to establish requirements.
• Conforming to health and safety procedures and policies.
• Contribute to continuing improvement of the factory equipment and maintenance.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Work to lean theory.
• Observe and practice the 5S principles.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

The Candidate

• Must be a time served in Electrical or Electronic Engineering discipline.
• Must be from a manufacturing or process-based background.
• Must be able to fault find on PLCs e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley.
• Ideally familiar with factory equipment e.g. CNC machines & conveyors.
• Multi skilled in basic mechanical practices.
• Must have at least 5 years post apprenticeship experience.
• Must be experienced in reactive and preventative maintenance.
