Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves traveling to various client sites to install, maintain, and repair packaging machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical qualifications, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Install and commission new packaging machinery at customer sites, ensuring proper setup and functionality.

Perform regular maintenance and emergency repairs on packaging machinery to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with packaging machinery, providing effective solutions to resolve problems quickly.

Provide excellent customer service, offering technical support and training to customers on the operation and maintenance of their packaging equipment.

Maintain accurate records of service visits, including detailed reports on work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.

Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.

Qualifications

Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualification (e.g., HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent).

Experience:

Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role, ideally within the packaging machinery industry.

Skills:

Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic and repair skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers.

Certifications:

Electrical certification (e.g., 18th Edition Wiring Regulations) is desirable.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.

Additional Requirements

Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary.

Ability to stay updated with the latest advancements in packaging machinery technology.

Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
