Job Title-Service Manager
Division/Department- Operations
Responsible to Area Manager
Working Pattern- Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm (weekend work required)
Location- Uxbridge, Middlesex
The Service Manager is responsible for delivering Service User centred care; through the efficient management of staff delivering services and to ensure compliance with company processes and procedures.
The Service Manager will be specifically responsible for:
Day to day management of care provisions and services within a Dom Care setting.
Providing support and guidance to staff as required to ensure effective delivery of services and ensure that care responsibilities are carried out effectively.
Providing direct management to the operations team, including Care Supervisors, Senior Care Worker and Care Workers.
Ensuring that regular team meetings are held with staff to discuss service related matters, share company information and encourage knowledge sharing between staff.
Completing regular performance meetings, ensuring that the team is effective and resolving any issues promptly.
Ensuring that staff appraisals are scheduled and completed timeously.
Ensuring that service users interests are maximised through effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Developing and implementing person centred care plans for each service user, and ensuring that regular reviews of the plans are completed.
Implementing and monitoring safeguarding and ensuring the rights and dignity of each service user.
Ensuring that service user development is regularly accessed and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Ensuring staff are following company processes and procedures and interacting with CFIT systems effectively.
Ensuring the effective management of SU/house budgets and service user financials, where relevant.
Creating and maintaining a positive environment that encourages services users and staff to actively engage.
Ensuring that there is open and transparent communication to service users and staff regarding any changes and updates.
Ensuring that the cleanliness, quality, security and safety of each home is maintained
Completing regular training needs analysis for operations staff and work together with Human Resources and Training to ensure the delivery of training and development in order to maximise staff competence.
Developing and ensuring staff rotas are updated ensuring appropriate cover to deliver the service effectively.
Attending and actively participating in internal management reviews and, external forums where required.
Ensuring that regular audits are completed, and engage where required for external audits.
Ensuring that services are compliant and prepared for any external audit that may include CQC, local authorities and commissions
In addition to specific responsibilities, the role will also be responsible for ensuring:
the maintenance of confidentiality of all information unless otherwise permitted by management

compliance with legislation and GSCC Code of Conduct as reflected in company procedures
undergo training and professional development as directed by the company
work in a manner that promotes team work and a collegial environment
active and positive promotion of the company’s image and brand
other duties that may be assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience:
NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management in Social Care (or equivalent) with a minimum of two years’ experience at Assistant Manager or Team Leader level within a care setting preferred
Ability to pass company Management Induction Programme within 12 months of appointment date
Strong living skills that can be transferred to service users i.e. daily living, shopping, cooking etc.
Competence in the use of Microsoft Office and Internet applications
Strong English spoken, listening, writing, communication and presentation skills
Strong administration skills
Strong Management skills/experience
Good level of knowledge and understanding of risk management and mitigation
Full driving licence and use of own car to travel to work locations and to support Service Users
