Payroll Administrator / HR Support / Norwich / Permanent - Competitive salary of up to £28,000 per annum.

Position 1 Recruitment are looking for Payroll Administrator / HR Support to join our client, based in North Norwich. Due to ongoing growth, they are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Payroll Administrator / HR Support to assist their Operations Manager.


This role is crucial in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, and that the HR processes run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, an understanding of HR best practices, and a passion for employee service.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll:

  • Manage the payroll function ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
  • Implement payroll best practices.
  • Resolve any payroll errors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Update all systems including Pension provider, Payroll and HR systems
  • Complete weekly attendance checks using our clocking-in system

HR Support:


Secondly, alongside payroll you will play a crucial role in supporting the HR Functionality with administrative duties providing guidance on various employee-related matters. Reporting to our Operations Manager you will be responsible for delivering high-quality assistance to employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Onboarding new employees, including offer letter and contract drafting. Keeping personal details up-to-date, and processing leaver information,
  • Working with the wider team to ensure necessary documents are filed and updated.
  • Maintaining up-to-date records for all our sites to ensure compliance with H&S legislation, employee training and disciplinary & grievance requirements, and
  • Becoming a first point of contact for staff and managers, for queries related to HR, payroll, and general employee requests.

Payroll Administrator / HR Support will have exceptional attention to detail, as will the ability to prioritise tasks according to the needs of the business. You will be organised, process driven, thorough and able to multitask.

  • Educated to GSCE standard or equivalent - Maths and English (Required)
  • Highly proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (Required)
  • Previous experience working within an HR environment (Preferred)
  • Experience coordinating payroll activities (Essential)
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality and data sensitivity (Requirement)

In return our client is offering a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday 40 hrs per week. Competitive salary of up to £28,000 with the following benefits: birthday off following successful probation, CBS Car Scheme following successful probation.
