Position: Transport Planner

Location: Castle Donnington

Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 (Some flexibility may be required)

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Our client who has been delivering unique transport and logistic solutions for over 25 years is seeking an experienced General Haulage Transport Planner to join their already strong and reputable team in Castle Donnington.

This role is for planning both domestic and European loads, FTL/LTL, Double-deckers, pallets, box vans, tautliners and containers. Vehicles ranging from vans through to articulated lorries. So the ideal candidate will need to have solid knowledge and proven experience in this specialist area of transport planning.

Your key responsibilities as a Transport Planner:

• Routing and scheduling vehicles to optimise fleet utilisation
• Arranging the release, collection and delivery of freight
• Proven knowledge of geographical routes and driver regulations in the UK & EU
• Dispatching and debriefing drivers
• Solid WTD knowledge
• Hands-on coordination of emergency response and resolution of road incidents
• Liaising with customers and colleagues to ensure the operation runs smoothly and cost-effectively
• Completing all administration tasks and dealing with infringements, so good attention to detail is required to ensure the accuracy of information
• Maintaining company policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Proven experience in the pallet network
• Freight forwarding background an advantage
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Backload experience
