£85,000 - £90,000/annum bonus and benefits

Duties:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership by inspiring and guiding the finance team to achieve departmental and organisational goals.
  • Implement effective management practices to ensure team efficiency and high performance.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, providing clear direction, feedback, and support.
  • Develop and mentor team members, identifying opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
  • Provide leadership to the Board's finance and accounting strategy, optimising the company's financial performance and strategic position
  • Overall responsibility for the company's accounting function
  • Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports
  • Develop a suite of Management Reporting and Board Packs
  • Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash management, develop accurate cashflow forecasting model
  • FX/Treasury responsibility
  • Improve standard costing methodology
  • Providing financial analysis and guidance on all company activities, plans, targets and business drivers so that tenders are priced appropriately
  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash flows, and aiding departments to maintain spending within budget
  • Financial modelling and sensitive analysis around current and future business performance
  • Provide effective business partnering to key department (Sales & Marketing, Manufacturing etc) to drive performance and profitability
  • Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt and taxation, as appropriate
  • Support the board on all M&A Activity and post acquisition integration

Attributes:

  1. Qualified Management accountant.
  2. Strong technical knowledge of accounting and ability to apply to real business scenarios and communicate effectively.
  3. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and be proactive in all aspects of role
  4. High level of computer literacy including exposure to ERP systems
  5. Effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  6. Proactive in all aspects of role
  7. Ability to manage team on day to day and basis, including coaching colleagues.
  8. Able to take an holistic business approach whilst maintaining a strong grip on detail
  9. Must take real pride in "the numbers" - driven to produce accurate robust information
  10. Ability to work with operations and the leadership team to drive performance.
  11. Able to produce quick, accurate analyses e.g. business cases, "dice & slice", what-ifs
  12. Team player with demonstrable man management skills
  13. Robust character, self-starter able to operate autonomously.
  14. Comfortable in fast paced dynamic company with Owner Manager culture
  15. Worked within manufacturing sector
  16. Involvement in business / operational focused projects, e.g. lean, cost reduction projects, forecasting, cashflow
  17. Strong business acumen with a logical approach to opportunities and challenges
