Position: Mental Health Support Worker Location: SEN School, Wirral Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans to promote students' emotional and mental well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment where students feel valued and understood.
  • Assist in the delivery of therapeutic activities and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a mental health support role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of various mental health conditions and interventions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support the well-being of children.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in mental health support or related fields are desirable.

To be considered for this position you will:
- have previous school experience and be familiar with the SIMS system
- Be a committed professional
- Be an organised, enthusiastic proactive person
-Hold a child workforce enhanced DBS certificate which is on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one (costs refunded back to you when you complete 20 days work)
-have satisfactory references
-have a CV must that covers the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any gaps in employment must be explained;
- Have the legal right to work in the UK.
