Laboratory Manager, Wickford, Essex

An excellent opportunity has become available to join a friendly Laboratory team. As the Laboratory Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of the laboratory and supervising the laboratory technicians.

Key Responsibilities include:

•              Supervising the laboratory technicians and providing training and support as required

•              Holding performance reviews and setting objectives for the laboratory technicians

•              Responsible for meeting the laboratory targets

•              Provide support to the Technical and Sales teams as required

•              Responsible for the maintenance of laboratory equipment

•              You may have to cover the occasional night shift for holiday and/or sickness cover

•              Maintaining high levels of health and safety management for the laboratory at all times

•              Perform other related tasks as requested 

 Testing and Sampling:

•              Responsible for all in house testing of raw materials

•              Responsible for all in house testing of finished products

•              Responsible for all reporting and recording of all test results

•              Responsible for upkeep and ordering of all consumables required for the laboratory 

•              Responsible for sample disposal

•              Produce laboratory blends when requested 

The ideal Candidate will have:

•              A Chemistry Degree

•              Previous experience managing an Analytical, QC or Testing Laboratory

•              Strong attention to detail

•              Ability to work without supervision

•              Ability to multi task

•              Excellent time management skills

•              Exceptional communication skills

•              Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office

 Salary and Benefits: 

Salary: £34,000 per annum

 Hours:

08:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday
