Location: Norwich
Reports to: Factory Manager
Job Summary:
Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a dedicated Shift Manager to oversee and manage daily factory operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that operations teams uphold the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety, in line with the company's Corporate Ethos.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Production:
  • Develop and lead a collaborative, high-performing operations team.
  • Achieve production plans efficiently, meeting set targets.
  • Ensure quality and hygiene standards are consistently met.
  • Follow Health & Safety (H&S) guidelines.
  • Optimize the use of ingredients, people, and packaging to maximize gross margins.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all production matters.
Quality Management:
  • Adhere to and enforce quality monitoring systems.
  • Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards are maintained throughout the factory.
  • Collaborate with the Factory and Technical Manager to secure relevant accreditations.
People Management:
  • Deputize for the Factory Manager as needed.
  • Model and develop the core values of Respect, Professionalism, and Innovation within the team.
  • Effectively manage team performance and wellbeing.
  • Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) to enhance products, processes, and policies.
  • Promote and comply with all company employment policies and procedures.
Health & Safety:
  • Maintain the highest Health & Safety standards and ensure team compliance with H&S policies.
Facilities and Site Management:
  • Act as a keyholder and ensure the factory team is trained in alarm and procedural protocols.
General Management:
  • Attend and contribute to management team meetings.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required, which may not be directly related to the primary responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Excellent understanding of quality management systems and GMP.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Ability to optimize resource use to achieve financial targets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
