Senior Health and Safety Advisor

Birmingham

O’Neill & Brennan are representing a large Regional Main Contractor in the West Midlands whom are looking to appoint a new SHE Advisor.

  • As the Senior SHE Advisor you will develop policies and procedures ensuring people are operating in a safe and compliant manner across our sites.
  • Strive for zero harm, empower all team members to own safety and improve. 
  • Advise line management and assists with the implementation of new or existing SHEQ related legislation, rules, and Company standards to include health and safety awareness training, site inspections of the company and sub-contractors. 
  • Complete prevention inspections on a regular basis and ensure records maintained monthly.  
  • Assist in retaining all current integration and work towards the attainment of new accreditations.  
  • Facilitate all forms of risk assessment e.g., general, physical, COSHH, fire prevention and acts as a final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site. 
  • Conduct occupational health and safety related surveys e.g., noise, lighting, exposure to chemical substances and makes associated recommendations. 
  • Monitor the site “permit-to-work” system to ensure compliance with Company standards. 

Experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma or equivalent 
  • Construction Background
  • Experience of working as a Senior SHE Advisor or at a similar level
  • Tech IOSH or Grad IOSH status 
  • CSCS Site Card (Black) First Aid Basic Certificate
  • SMSTS & First Aid at Work 
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
