We at Work Lyf group are recruiting for a Project Manager for our global client in the rail industry, based in Stoke-On-Trent.

As Project Manager, you will play a key role in the creation and execution of project plans across the UK and Europe. You will engage with others across the wider business to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The role will include:

  • Creating and implementing successful project plans using industry recognized software such as Microsoft Project. Manage teams to achieve project deliverables.
  • Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time
  • Conduct and contribute to professional meetings both internally and externally
  • Gain buy-in from internal customers to ensure project deliverables are maintained to plan
  • Deliver project updates including profitability updates and analysis
  • Take a lead with the bids process to ensure future projects have well executed BOM’s and accurate timescales
  • Support projects at all UK sites as well as the EU team, remotely and in person.
  • Carry out lessons learned sessions to ensure project learnings are considered in any new projects
  • Document project processes for repeatability and auditability
  • Ensure all personnel, regulatory and compliance procedures are adhered to in all Project Team activities
  • Promote and comply with the Company’s Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Policies at all times
  • Engage in professional development and networking
  • Participate in the Company appraisal process
  • Out of hours work where required

You will be able to demonstrate excellent project leadership experience, having led both technical and non-technical projects and projects on a multi-million pound scale. You will be confident in your abilities to manage and engage team members and stakeholders throughout the project lifestyle. You will be used to working cross-functionally; utilising your excellent communication and influencing skills to build relationships at all levels and drive results forward. You will be a ‘starter-finisher’, keen to see tasks through to completion and your genuine can-do attitude and collaborative approach will inspire others to follow you.

  • Ability to produce financial reports
  • Ability to produce project plans using Microsoft Project or similar.
  • Listening skills and ability to facilitate consensus and diffuse tensions
  • Positive in the face of complexity and ambiguity, embracing change and encouraging others to do the same
  • IT literate (Ms Office, Excel, Project)
  • Hold or be working towards professional project management qualifications (BA Hons or similar)
  • Ideally business management or engineering degree educated

It will be a bonus if you can also demonstrate the following:

·        Practical understanding of ERP systems.

·        Proven experience and understanding of procurement supply chain activities.

·        Experience of travelling domestically and internationally on a professional basis.

·        Technical locomotive understanding.

·        Experience in the rail industry.

·        Continuous improvement experience (6 Sigma)

Full UK driving license required
