Furniture Designer

£35k dependent on experience
High-end furniture and joinery manufacturers seek a creative designer with extensive experience working on bespoke products.
You will work on full design projects from conception to installation ensuring project scope, quality, cost and customer satisfaction.
As the Designer you will:
- Work on interesting and challenging bespoke projects supplying to the domestic and commercial industries
- Interpret client drawings and discuss requirements and potential changes and problems to ensure they meet specifications and vision
- Work closely with manufacturing ensuring products meet specifications and troubleshooting as required
- Manage your own projects from conception to delivery
- Produce as built drawings, design for manufacture and sit drawings for installation
- Work to set project deadlines
- Working in Rhino and SolidWorks
- Attend client review meetings
- Ensure all designs, drawings and documents are saved in the product files
- Ensure material availability, issue cutting lists and production packs for manufacturing
As the Designer you will:
- Have confident experience of producing designs for bespoke furniture of similar products
- Be familiar with a range of 3D design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suit or Rhino
- Hold a relevant qualification in interior, production engineering design
- Have a proven background in managing your own projects
- Be familiar with design for manufacture
- Have a strong understanding of joinery techniques and material limitations
- Be a great communicator able to deal directly with clients
- Be familiar with Working in a targeted production environment
- The role may suit someone who has worked on the shop floor ideally within bench joinery and progressed into a Design role.
