A National multi-disciplinary are looking for a Transport Planner/Senior Transport Planner to join their team in Birmingham that is gaining a foothold in the Midlands very quickly. With the appointment of the Associate 18months ago, the team has gone from strength to strength with the support of the wider team.

Focusing on Development Planning schemes across Birmingham and the Midlands, leveraging current relationships in the business and bringing on board new clients across sectors such as residential, health, education, retail, energy, leisure, and employment this team is ready to bring it's newest member on board.

It will be your role to lead Travel Plans, Transport Assessments, Junction Models and some CAD detailed design work. Be involved in the development of the Graduate and Apprentice members of the team in Birmingham. Liaise with Clients to deliver the schemes and much more!

Transport Planner/Senior Transport Planner Requirements

  • A degree in a related subject such as Geography (preferably MSc in Transport Planning)
  • Experience with preparing Transport Statements, Assessments, Travel Plans and Construction Traffic Management Plans and inputs to Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Access strategy work, parking strategies, sustainable transport, S106 agreements, S278 agreements and guidance such as NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets etc
  • Use of the TRICS database
  • Setting up and running PICADY's and ARCADYS (Junctions 10)
  • An understanding of LINSIG and can carry this modelling out for different scenarios, understand what they are doing and why
  • The principles of micro-simulation and strategic models/modelling
  • Junction design (priority, roundabout, signals).
  • The level of knowledge and experience will be considered appropriate with the level of role applied for.
