Housing and Welfare Benefits Administrator

Based in Stanmore. Hybrid role - 3 days office based.

£28,000 per annum

Norwood is looking for an administrator to join our Housing and Welfare Benefits team which provides high quality Welfare Benefits advice to the people for whom we hold Corporate Appointeeship, and other people we support. This includes managing benefit claims, assessing entitlements and challenging the DWP or Local Authority decisions when appropriate, to the level of First Tier Tribunal if needed.

The administrator will work closely with the Housing and Benefits Supervisor which will offer a great opportunity to develop welfare benefits knowledge and advance towards a Welfare Benefits Advisor role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Housing and Welfare Benefits Team.
  • Manage basic database entries.
  • Liaise with the external bodies including Local Authorities and the DWP where necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate records of work undertaken.
  • Ensure the client register is up to date.
  • Work through various applications in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the system is correctly updated and the documents saved in line with GDPR rules.
  • Be the point of contact for incoming calls and responding to enquiries.
