Client: Our client is a nationally renowned M&E Contractor who turnover in excess of £250M. With numerous offices throughout the country their client base ranges from end users to large main contractors, including: Kier, Morgan Sindall, Wates and Carillion. They specialise in technically challenging projects within the Datacentre, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Residential and R&D sectors. Following the appointment on a major project in Central London.

Role: Mechanical Design Manager – Day Rate – £375 - £425 per day

Project: Grade II listed building – Currently in construction, our client is leading a Cat B fit out consisting of laboratory space and small works on the roof and in the basement. There is a £11M M&E package on the refurbishment and need a technically sound design manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage external consultants, main contractors and clients to develop MEP designs within budget and on time.
  • Verification of external consultants designs and data including review of IES and Revit models.
  • Make sure client specifications are met and check quality and competence of any design terms or 3rd party.
  • Attendance of client and design team meetings.
  • Managing flow of design drawings using Dalux system.
  • Ensuring project team are up to date with any changes.

Ideal candidate:

  • Minimum HNC / HND in building services engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a mechanical services design role contractor based.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Background in strong building knowlegde.
