Job Overview:
As a Planning & Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and facilitating the smooth execution of multiple architectural projects from pre-application through planning to execution. Working closely with contracted architectural firms, you will coordinate activities, communicate progress updates, and provide feedback to Directors to ensure projects meet quality standards and time lines. This role offers a unique opportunity to demonstrate expertise in the entire project life cycle while contributing to the success of large-scale commercial and residential developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Life cycle Management: Oversee the entire project cycle from pre-application to planning and execution, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  2. Design Coordination: Collaborate with multiple contracted architectural firms to manage the design and development process, ensuring consistency and quality across all phases.
  3. Communication: Serve as the central point of contact for project-related communication, facilitating dialogue between internal stakeholders and external partners.
  4. Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess the status of various project areas, identifying potential bottlenecks or issues and proactively seeking solutions to keep projects on track.
  5. Feedback Loop: Provide timely and insightful feedback to Directors on project status, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  6. Architectural Support: Utilise architectural skills to contribute to the design and development of smaller-scale projects, showcasing creativity and attention to detail.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, correspondence, and progress reports, to ensure compliance and accountability.
  8. Risk Management: Identify potential risks or deviations from project plans and work collaboratively with stakeholders to mitigate and resolve issues.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to optimise processes, streamline workflows, and enhance overall project efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor`s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, planning, and design coordination within the architecture or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of the entire project life-cycle for commercial and residential towers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Architectural design experience and proficiency in CAD software preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
