Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, the Engineering Department Manager will be proactive, highly safety-conscious, and capable of leading and managing engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and utility departments. This role requires providing constant guidance, mentoring, and support to the team members.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in crafting and implementing an engineering strategy that aligns with business goals, emphasizing efficiency, quality, capability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Initiate continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure all activities consider health, safety, environmental, and energy impacts, complying with ISO 14001 standards.
- Maintain a safe operating environment and ensure all tasks comply with legislative, HSE, quality, and company standards.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Proven experience in leading engineering teams within the manufacturing industry, with strong team-building skills.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and ISO 14001.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) at all organizational levels, internally and externally.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure role.
- Self-motivated and capable of working proactively and independently.
- Proficient in computer use.
