Applications Engineer (Multi-Axis CNC Grinding Machines)

Salary - £35,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Location – Romford

Position Summary:

As an Applications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our multi-axis CNC grinding machines. You'll collaborate with cross functional teams, including R&D, production, and customer support, to enhance machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Machine Optimization: Work closely with customers to understand their specific requirements and tailor machine settings for optimal performance.
• Process Development: Develop and refine grinding processes, including wheel selection, feeds, speeds, and coolant strategies.
• Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to customers, addressing inquiries related to machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Training: Conduct training sessions for internal teams and customers on machine operation, programming, and maintenance.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with design engineers to improve machine design, reliability, and efficiency.
• Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including _manuals, guides, and troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications:

The Candidate Requirement: Hands on practical experience plus appropriate engineering qualification, Manufacturing Engineering and Product Development or a related field.

     Experience: Minimum of 3 years working with multi-axis CNC grinding machines.

Skills:

• Proficiency in CNC programming.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of grinding wheel selection, dressing techniques, and coolant management.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to Travel: Worldwide travel to customer sites for installations, training, and support.
