Business Development Manager

On-Target-Earnings: circa £65,000 pa
Base Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 pa
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Office-Based with travel across the UK and overseas)

The Role: 

This thriving business is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager/Sales Manager to drive new machinery sales and expand their aftermarket revenue, including spare parts and refurbishments. This pivotal role offers a blend of office-based responsibilities in Leeds and travel across the UK and overseas to engage with clients and explore new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the UK and international markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Present and demonstrate machinery and services to clients, highlighting the benefits and technical specifications.
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales deals to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful project delivery.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and challenges.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in machinery or equipment sales within the manufacturing industry, or technical engineering sales.
  • Strong technical understanding and the ability to articulate complex machinery solutions to clients.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and overseas.
  • A proactive approach to developing business and a keen interest in career advancement.
  • You may currently hold the job title of BDM, Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, Sales Engineer etc.

What’s on Offer:

  • Basic salary between £45,000 and £50,000 per annum.
