SHEQ Advisor - Permanent role - ASAP start -Dublin - £45k - £55k PA (Depending on experince) 

The Role: The main focus of this role is to ensure that all health and safety, environmental, and quality standards are met on site. You will be conducting site visits and audits, investigating any incidents, and writing reports, identifying potential hazards, completing risk assessments and site inspections, and suggesting improvements to working processes. The successful candidate will also be required to travel to sites within Europe occasionally.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

These duties will include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Be an integral part of the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team. 
  • Advising all staff on content of risk assessments, method statements, task-specific briefings, site health & safety plans, and safety issues generally. 
  • Ensure all toolbox talks are communicated in a timely manner. 
  • Ensure ongoing communication with staff and workforce while on projects. 
  • Conduct first party and second party audits of our clients sites and projects. 
  • Represent the company at SHEQ meetings with clients and sub-contractors. 
  • Attend project pre-start meetings and sub-contractor pre-start meetings. 
  • Management of accident investigation and compilation of reports ensuring any improvement actions are put in place and closed out.  
  • Communication of safety initiatives/notices/alerts to staff and workforce. 
  • Coordinate the production of group safety tour project summaries. 
  • Assisting the group SHEQ manager in reviewing procedure reviews and attending weekly SHEQ review meetings. 
  • Assist with development and delivery of in-house safety training programs/presentations. 
  • Issue staff information as to changes in work methods or statutory requirements by means of safety bulletins, and internal safety procedures applicable to the company. 
  • Keep up to speed with client health and safety standards and specifications and ensure that these are implemented at project level. 
  • Devise strategies to meet targets and encourage best practices ensuring compliance with local legislation. 
  • A working knowledge of construction design and management regulations.  
  • Understand SHEQ policies and procedures. 
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position or as required by your line manager. 
  • Comply with company policies & procedures. 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Ideally you will have an IOSH/NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent. 
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role  
  • Other certifications/experience that would be beneficial include: 
  • ISO9001  
  • ISO27001  
  • PSA 67 / PSA 74  
  • EN50131 
  • Auditing  
  • Previous working experience in areas such as construction, security or fire.
