Job Title:Estimator

Thorn Baker has teamed up with the industry leader in design, furniture and fit out who are looking for an experienced Estimator with a passion for precision and a knack for negotiation to join their vibrant team. With over 20 years' experience they are specialists in creating inspiring spaces for the office, hotel, leisure, education and healthcare sectors, working closely with architects, interior designers and the end user to create high quality, visually stunning interiors.

As an adept Estimator, you'll be at the forefront of all commercial endeavours, reporting to the Pre-Construction Director.

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare meticulous cost estimates that underpin our projects' financial success.
• Organise bids, engage with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors to determine project financial needs.
• Utilize your fit-out industry experience to provide detailed project estimates, encompassing labour, plant, material build-ups, and preliminaries.
• Thrive amidst fast-paced, dynamic projects, offering your expertise on high-value, fast-track schemes up to £3 million.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, ensuring effective cost and commercial management during pre-construction and contract phases.

Required Skills:

• A professional and proactive approach, backed by a strong track record of successful estimations.
• Excellent communication skills, enabling you to negotiate effectively both internally and externally, and develop supplier relationships.
• Experience working with blue-chip contractors, adding depth to your industry insights.
• A methodical and organised nature, coupled with the adaptability to work individually and as a cohesive team player.
• Attention to detail, great investigator, natural solution driven problem solver.
• A team player who is switched on to producing the best possible, timely service with passion and enthusiasm.
