Our client is an innovative manufacturer of a range of packaging solutions for the FMCG drinks market. They supply both product and capital equipment to the global markets.

They are significantly expanding and looking to strengthen their production and design teams

This is an exciting opportunity to join the business as we launch an innovative new product worldwide. Reporting directly to the Product Director this role requires working closely with not only our engineering team but key equipment suppliers and end customers. Once fully trained, this role will require significant periods of travel both within the UK and internationally

Key Activities:

  • Lead commissioning activities of new repeat build machines through both FAT in the UK and SAT internationally.
  • Driving continuous improvement through feedback to mechanical, electrical and controls engineering disciplines.
  • Managing upgrade installation & validation exercises on existing machines.
  • Assist in machine relocation planning.
  • Recording machine Overall Equipment Effectiveness and commissioning snag lists.
  • Lead commissioning activities of NPD projects.
  • Contribute to all associated documentation including: Machine manuals, Qualification protocols, SOP’s and future machine URS documentation.
  • Ownership of machine settings logs and changes.
  • Work closely with controls engineers on machine analytics.

 Skills & Qualifications

  • The candidate should have an excellent all round electromechanical understanding.
  • 4 years minimum experience in commissioning equipment, ideally internationally.
  • The candidate should come from a key discipline including electrical, mechanical or controls engineering. 
  • Understanding of PLC’s (able to write or modify structured text code advantageous).  
  • Ability to read electrical and pneumatic circuit diagrams.
  • knowledge of different motor drive technologies such as servo, dc, Stepper and AC motors.
  • Good general computer skills
  • Strong cause-effect analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
