You will be operating both milling and turning machinery in this heavily industrial manufacturing site, safety is at the forefront of this employers values ensuring everyone gets home safe.

  • 3 shift pattern:
Shifts:
Mornings: Monday - Thursday 06:00 - 13:40  Friday 06:00 - 13:00
Afternoons: Monday - Thursday 13:35 - 21:15 Friday 12:55 - 19:55
Nights Monday - Thursday: 21:10 - 06:05  
  
The role of a CNC Machinist:

  • Follow instructions on the route card and read technical drawings.
  • Setting, programming and operating CNC machines including: Bridgeport, Coburg, Hurco & Soreluce.
  • Load, edit and backup programmes.
  • Use of overhead Cranes - Training will be provided.
  • Identify the correct tools for the job and change inserts.
  • Load, edit and backup programs.
  • To inspect products either on completion of machining or as a pre-machining or in process check as specified in the manufacturing instruction. 
  • To carry out required machine parameter changes associated with the set up.
  • To test/dry run new or modified programs using appropriate machine functions and making required adjustments to machine and tool offsets to achieve the required size.
  
Skills and Experience required to become a CNC Miller:

  • Previous experience should include manufacturing industry, preferably in a medium to heavy environment
  • Engineering qualification level 2 ideally.
  • The ability to read from engineering drawings.
  • Awareness of safety legislation and quality procedures (ISO 9001)
  • Ideally experience using CAD CAM.
