My client is looking for a Mechanical Contracts Manager. They are a well established Building Services business based in Cambridgeshire offering Mechanical & Electrical design, planning, installation and maintenance with projects mainly within the industrial and commercial sectors. 

They are looking for a Contract Manager who is skilled at managing projects from initiation through to completion. 

Mechanical Contracts Manager Position Overview 

You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of projects from quoting and tendering works, pricing accordingly, mobilisation, delivery, and handover across a range of sites typically around Cambridge, Peterborough and the surrounding areas with projects valued between £50k - £2m. 

Responsibilities include: 

• Assisting in preparing tender submissions. 

• Quoting and pricing work accordingly. 

• Procurement of relevant plant and materials and sub-contractor packages. 

• Manage forecasting of spend, revenue and profitability. 

• Have a clear understanding of quoted work requirements to ensure that the company are not at risk of additional cost. 

• Undertake site visits where necessary to ensure mobilisation has taken place and work is progressing to schedule. 

Mechanical Contracts Manager Preferred Person Specification 

• The candidate should either have Level 3 technical qualifications or hold an HNC or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services 

• It is expected the successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of all project stages, from pre-construction and installation to commissioning and final handover to the client 

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience after qualification 

• Holds relevant professional, technical or management qualifications, and experience 

• Able to represent the company effectively at both internal and external meetings 

• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and Customer Service skills
