Senior Management Accountant

Morgan McKinley is assisting a manufacturing business with a strong international presence in their search for a skilled and experienced Management Accountant.

Our client, with over two decades of industry experience, operates globally and is seeking a Qualified Accountant capable of managing comprehensive management accounts, including full-cycle management and month-end processes. This position requires a high level of proficiency in hands-on management accounting, demonstrating the ability to take full ownership from start to finish independently and efficiently.

The Senior Management Accountant role will evolve into a more strategic business partnering position within 6 to 9 months, offering opportunities to lead financial projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence business strategy, while remaining actively involved in management accounting across international operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete Management Accounts: Perform all tasks in management accounting from start to finish, including initiating day-to-day transactions, preparing financial statements, conducting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring accurate month-end procedures such as accruals and prepayments.
• Month-End Accuracy: Lead and oversee the month-end closing process to ensure precision in financial reporting and compliance with deadlines.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Business Partnering: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across global offices to understand business performance, contribute to decision-making, and drive operational efficiencies.

Experience and Skills:

• MUST be a qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Demonstrated extensive hands-on experience in management accounting, actively performing all facets of the process rather than just overseeing.
• Proven ability to manage full-cycle management accounts and month-end processes with precision and proficiency.
• Strong analytical skills to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement in financial processes.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, collaborating effectively across international teams while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
