Hunter Mason’s client has extensive years of experience in the construction and civil engineering industry. Our client has now identified the need for a quantity surveyor who has experience across a variety of sectors such as Civils, Water, Highways, Rail, Defence and Utilities to join their expanding team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting cost estimates, budget preparation, and cost control for assigned projects.
- Managing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conducting risk assessments and value engineering to optimize project costs.
- Collaborating with project managers to ensure financial goals are met.
- Regularly updating project financial reports and providing insights to stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in a Project Quantity Surveyor role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and industry best practices.
- Strong background in the Civils, Water, Highways, Rail, Defence and Utilities sector.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., CostX, Buildsoft).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Relevant professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Experience with EV projects would be desirable but not essential.
