Property Inspector (office and field based)

£12.50 per hour/ £26,000 per annum

4 days during the week (between Monday – Friday, no weekends). 2 days office based, 9am – 5pm and 2 days travelling across England.

Corby. Office based (for 2 days per week). You must live within sensible commuting distance to Corby to enable you to be office based twice per week.

Caution though, this role isn’t for people that couldn’t be away from home during the week. Depending on where you’ll be travelling, which could be most places in England from Southampton and Isle of Wight up to Newcastle, you may have to stay over in a hotel (at the company’s expense). You’ll also have a daily allowance for food (when travelling). However, you’ll never stay over on your last working day of the week and have to travel back home from beyond on your day off.  

This role would potentially suit a new graduate with great IT skills, a basic understanding of geography (for the purpose of travelling across England) and most importantly, a driving licence and their own car. You won’t have access to a company car, but your travel expenses when travelling for work (not to the office in Corby) will be expensed at the standard £0.45 per mile.

This role is a 40 hour week for the purpose of working x2 office days during the week, working 9am – 5pm and x2 field/ travel days which could be circa 12-14 hours long.

What your role will look like:

  • Communicating with clients and team members
  • Travelling across the UK (excluding Scotland) to inspect properties
  • Planning in advance your workload and organising your inspections in a geographical route to be as time efficient as possible
  • Take the required photos and fill in relevant documentation on the company CRM.
  • Conduct inspections of the properties using an iPad and inspection software to take photos.
  • Keeping accurate records. To keep the CRM and Inspection Management systems up to date with comprehensive and accurate information.
  • Be prepared to answer questions from the legal owner about the inspection, your part in the process and to help the homeowner overcome any doubts or concerns.
