What will you take on as a Senior Design Engineer?
- Designing and developing new products, as requested and overseeing them to completion.
- Amending existing products, adapting them to fit newer specifications or requirements.
- Using tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to draw and produce from drawings.
- Understanding purpose, demographic, limitations and desires. Incorporating all variables and factors into designs.
- Producing technical documentation and maintaining existing documents. This encompasses 3D CAD models, 2D CAD drawings, DXF files (for laser cutting), BOMs, as well as test data and technical specifications.
- Providing direct customer support. This will be including face-to-face support, with visits to domestic and international sites.
- Cross referencing all designs with mandatory legislation provided by both, the client and the government. Ensuring products meet enforced guidelines is mandatory.
- Providing technical support to colleagues in other departments when required.
- Testing products including instillation, following up with collecting, collating and analysing test data to provide in depth test reports.
What could make you the perfect Senior Design Engineer?
- A depth of experience in a Technical Design and/or an Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstratable skills using design tools: SolidWorks 2D, SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD.
- Engineering qualified. HNC/HND in Engineering is a minimum, but a degree in preferable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A knowledge and understanding of how to use FMEA.
- A team player. Projects will be undertaken individually or working together with a team.
- Any prior exposure to electronic or electric engineering is not required, but it would be looked upon fondly.
- The ability to multi-task and maintain high attention to detail is paramount.
- Experience using SAP Engineering Control Center is advantageous.
