Job Title SITE/SURVEYING ENGINEER
Portishead or Sheffield based, Site Engineers will be mostly on sites across the UK.

Purpose On site setting out and measuring, to include creation of as-builts and progress drawings.

Overview of Role The role of Site/Surveying Engineer is a crucial role for operational projects. Whilst maintaining close communication with colleagues at all levels within the business, it is important that the Site/Surveying Engineer is able to respond swiftly independently and efficiently to varying requests, from detailed 3D modelling exercises to essential site measurement works.

Key Responsibilities/ Requirements
• Coordinate site engineering control and setting out activities and provide information to operatives and subcontractors.
• Complete diary sheets along with any photographic evidence as required.
• Ensure all surveying equipment is calibrated.
• Carry out as-built surveys on complete works and drawings.
• Assist in maintaining quality records, ensuring all works undertaken in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and maintaining the as-built records.
• Production of drawings from topographical survey and site record information.
• 3-D volumetric calculation of soils/ works, e.g., contamination plumes through interpolation, production of Cut / Fill quantities and extraction of details and quantities from tender drawings, site investigation reports and other mapping sources.
• Maintain knowledge and commitment to (CPD), keep abreast of latest software developments and improvements appropriate to role and suggest innovative changes that will enhance the business.
• Mentor engineer resources under direction from Line Manager.

Qualifications & Experience Required/ Desired
• Competency in AutoCAD/Drafting (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent including previous
experience)
• Knowledge and experience of other MS Office and windows software.
• Proficient in the use of modern surveying and setting out instrumentation.
• Good understanding of machine control.
• LSS or similar 3D modelling knowledge and experience. (Training can be given in LSS)
• Relevant CSCS qualification.
• General knowledge of Environmental Engineering and activities of the wider business.
