Chef & Duty Manager

We are currently recruiting for a dynamic and experienced Catering and Duty Manager to support the delivery of our diverse range of activities for our client in Redditch. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service across all catering operations, including matchday, hospitality, events, and our expanding education provision.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and building their own working environment and creating innovative menus.

Key Objectives:

  • Maintain the club’s 5-star food hygiene rating.
  • Lead the redesign of the club’s catering facility and menus.
  • Enhance the catering offerings
  • Drive sales and provide cost-effective menu options.
  • Lead team members to deliver high standards of product and customer service.

Standard Duties:

  • Ensure safe practices in the delivery of food, including food hygiene and allergens management.
  • Design menus for all provisions.
  • Manage kitchen stock orders and conduct regular stock takes to ensure best value and consistent supply levels.
  • Conduct regular reviews of profit margins for all sales.
  • Manage and record waste.
  • Cash up tills at the end of each day.
  • Assist the Managing Director and General Manager with the planning and delivery of matchday and event operations.
  • Provide clear, effective, and inclusive briefings to supervisors and staff on service requirements, with particular attention to service standards.
  • Assist the Managing Director in the completion of staff rotas.

Additional Responsibilities as Duty Manager:

  • Take responsibility for the site, including opening and locking up the facility as required.
  • Act as Line Manager for staff on site.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all people at the site.
  • Ensure colleagues always deliver the highest level of customer service through effective coaching, leadership, and communication.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with other senior members of staff.
  • Take part in staff appraisals.

Hours of Work:

  • 45 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
  • Required to work all home matchday fixtures and other events as needed.
  • Working hours may be adjusted as necessary.
  • May need to work additional hours as authorised and required by the club’s needs
