Material Planning Analyst

Desford onsite/hybrid

12-month contract, likely to be extended

37.5 hours a week


We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join to a global team as a Materials Planning Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the scheduling, planning, and procurement of materials, as well as ensuring timely delivery to support of the service to customers.


Responsibilities:

- Schedule, plan, and oversee material procurement, production, and delivery

- Ensure that material requirements are scheduled for delivery from suppliers in the correct quantity and on the specified date

- Validate supplier schedules and collaborate to ensure continued material availability

- Manage and control inventory levels for outgoing parts

- Coordinate flow of materials within the manufacturing facility and transfer to and from inventory or warehouse

- Develop and execute material planning for a product line, ensuring all requirements are met within the allocated time frame

- Hold Supplier Performance review meetings and track recovery actions

- Work with transport partners to ensure on-time delivery of material

- Track and analyze supplier performance metrics and negotiate to deliver materials per requirements


Requirements:

- Working knowledge of products and services, ability to apply knowledge appropriately

- Ability to identify, anticipate, and resolve organizational, operational, or process problems

- Knowledge of distribution requirements planning (DRP) and ability to manage inventory for multiple plants or warehouses

- Familiarity with forecasting tools and practices to determine product demand and estimate production requirements

- Extensive experience in inventory management, ensuring appropriate levels and resolving related problems

- Knowledge of logistics management and ability to effectively and efficiently move materials and finished products

- Understanding of manufacturing requirements planning (MRP) to optimize planning and ensure materials availability

- Working knowledge of supplier management processes and methods to effectively manage relationships and transactions


Ideal Background:

• Previous experience in Material Planning or supply chain.

• Supply chain experience in manufacturing industry.

• Supplier Management Experience.

• Tracking of deep sea shipments and freight forwarding.

• Knowledge of MRP.

• Microsoft Office and Excel competency.

• Power BI experience beneficial.

• Strong desire for SAP experience.

• Key analytical thought process.


Candidate must be based in the UK there is no relocation package or Visa sponsorship offered!
