Job Opportunity: Instrumentation and Monitoring Engineer

Red Sky Personnel is hiring on behalf of a Global Tier 1 main contractor for an exciting project involving large-scale excavations and tunnels.

Role Overview: Assist the I&M Manager with the design, implementation, and management of Instrumentation and Monitoring systems. Ensure structural building mitigation measures, defect surveys, and inspections are managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to ensure successful monitoring design.
  • Ensure monitoring design aligns with construction timelines.
  • Maintain and coordinate design documentation.
  • Oversee data acquisition and analysis.
  • Prepare and review Action Plans.
  • Present monitoring data and interpret results.
  • Raise non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports and review site activities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and third parties.
  • Maintain community and third-party relations.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Instrumentation and Monitoring
  • Understanding of safety legislation
  • Proficient in MS Office and bespoke software
  • Knowledge of structures and geotechnical engineering
  • Experience in LU and Network Rail environments is a plus

Qualifications:

  • Degree in surveying, engineering, mining, or construction
  • Alternatively, HNC/HND with significant technical experience
  • Experience in construction or mining industries
  • Previous experience in rail and LU environments
  • SSSTS or SMSTS training
  • Sentinel Card
