My client consists of business areas focusing on Platform Integration, Ground Based Air Defence, Special Projects and Weapons, which provide a variety of products and services to the Ministry of Defence and other customers.

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as an Assembly Technician?

• Competent technician capable of electrical and mechanical assembly and integration of complex systems working from drawings and engineering instruction.
• Competent and safe use of all hand and air tools. Use of Jigs, fixtures and measuring tools on precision assemblies.
• Problem solver with a positive attitude.
• Working with support from engineering group a methodical and precise approach to ensure successful completion of production tasks on high value hardware.

What are we looking for in our next Assembly Technician?

• Proven experience as a Vehicle Assembly Technician, Armoured Vehicle Technician / Aircraft Assembly Technician or similar role.
• Ability to complete set ups and perform quality and performance testing.
• Ability to work from written instructions with limited supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment with high accuracy.
• Ability to liaise with the test support, engineering and Quality functions.
• Attention to detail and ability to self-inspect work to ensure quality defects are mitigated
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Understanding of "clean as you go"/6S/FOD/Tool control programs mandatory.
• Experienced with quality inspection points and process documentation.
• A very high level of health and safety awareness.
• Must be able to take direction well and is a strong team player.
• Extreme attention to detail and continual pursuit of perfection.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Excellent organisation skills and problem-solving skills.
