This establishment are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive educational environment for vulnerable girls with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Our mission is to empower our students, help them build resilience, and guide them towards achieving their full potential. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Learning: Work closely with teachers to plan, deliver, and assess educational activities tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide emotional and social support to students, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and address challenging behaviour.
  • Individualized Support: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs).
  • Classroom Management: Assist in managing the classroom environment to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
  • Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model, offering guidance and support to help students develop their self-esteem and social skills.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to education.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEMH education.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: HLTA qualification or equivalent; relevant degree preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and resilient with a genuine passion for helping vulnerable girls succeed.
