Design Manager - Prime Residential Renovation

GM Recruitment is proud to announce a key opportunity within an esteemed specialist contractor. Our client specialises in renovation of private domestic properties in London's most prestigious neighbourhoods. Typical project value between £1-10M with each project covering a single dwelling.

Position Overview:

Based between multiple projects and the central London office, the Design Manager will cover a portfolio of high-end renovation projects. Responsible for managing the design process for both Design & Build and Traditional Contracts, serving as the primary liaison with design teams and the client.

Essential Experience: Candidates must have extensive experience in Prime Residential Renovation. Applications from those lacking this specific experience cannot be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Development Management: Lead the development and refinement of design plans.
  • Design Programme Preparation: Organise and manage the design time-line.
  • Technical Resolution: Address and resolve technical design queries.
  • Document & Change Control: Oversee documentation and manage change control processes.
  • Design Output Qualification: Ensure all design outputs meet required standards.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of the construction process.
  • Experience with planning legislation and applications.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to learn and implement new technologies.
