Cargo freight clerk required for a freight company who handles the freight bookings for a number of Airlines. This company is focused on airport to airport freight and also some Airport to door and door to door freight. They handle a range of cargo for some top airlines, ensure the customs entry is all ready for the freight and the freight bookings are all correct. As well as airport to airport cargo, they do cover airport to door as well, so some onward freight forwarding is also required for example road freight. Salary is £30-35k + you get your birthday off each year and free parking. This is an established freight forwarding company, that has been trading for many years and is known within the freight forwarding market.  Monday to Friday 09:00-17:30

The role
We are looking for a Cargo freight forwarder with export experience, you will work on air cargo with some road or sea freight as well if required. Most of the freight is airport to airport but they do handle some door to door and airport to door freight, thus some road freight forwarding witll be required. You will Handle enquires for the main airlines they partner with, discussing requirements & working on Air cargo and any onward forwarding beyond airport to airport cargo, you will manage cargo quotes. Liaising with Air, Sea and Road carriers regarding routes, schedules, and rates. Booking cargo space with airlines and onward road carriers/couriers.  Preparing all shipping documentation to meet carriage requirements. Building freight jobs in the freight system.  Processing customs declarations using Descartes. You will also offer Daily communication with customers, suppliers, third parties, subcontractors, network offices and crew regarding the details of the movements. This role includes all the normal cargo freight forwarder duties

Experience
We are looking for a candidate with a strong export knowledge within  cargo freight.  You will also have Experience within a cargo department,  Experience within generating cargo quotations for Air and any onward quotes for Road and Sea. you will have a High level of attention to detail. You will also have Knowledge of CDS/ CHIEF, CCS UK
