We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Client Accountant to join a well-established accountancy practice in St Albans.

It is a family run firm offering full accounting, taxation and payroll solutions to a wide range of clients. They pride themselves on providing a professional, efficient and friendly service, tailored to their clients’ individual needs.

Key responsibilities for the Client Accountant:

• As an accountant you will have your own client base as well as a variety of other work to undertake. You will be expected to build relationships with those clients, supporting and understanding their specific needs to help them get the most out of their business
• You will oversee the bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns for your clients (amongst other tasks as required) with a combination of performing the work yourself and reviewing the work done by others
• You will also help, support and train other members of the team

For this Client Accountant role they are looking for:

• At least 3 years practice experience
• ACA or ACCA part or fully qualified
• Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients
• Experience of both personal and corporate tax and accounting
• Ability to advise clients on different business structures and the relative benefits of each
• Experience assisting with the training and development of other staff members
• Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise work to ensure all deadlines are met
• Strong use of Excel and Word
• Competent use of Xero, Quickbooks and Sage
• 5 4-9 grade GCSEs (or equivalent) including mathematics
• 3 A-C grade A-levels (or equivalent)
