Project Manager 

The Company:

My client, a full system life-cycle manufacturer of secure communication systems, antennas, image technology and embedded computing are looking for a Project Manager to join their growing team in Leominster. Their products can be found transmitting high bandwidth data across hostile terrain, enabling secure ticket sales on trains, processing colossal amounts of data or gathering scientific insight in the cold and crushing depths of the ocean floor! 

Project Manager Key Responsibilities


Project Leadership and Delivery:
  • Execute projects flawlessly using the department's best practices (risk management, governance, quality assurance, issue resolution, reporting).
  • Assemble and lead a high-performing team comprised of project managers, technical specialists, suppliers, account team members, and client stakeholders.
  • Develop meticulous project plans and manage connections with other project components.
  • Oversee all aspects of the assigned project team, ensuring successful delivery.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering personnel requiring business support.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Implement rigorous change control procedures to manage project deviations.
Vendor Management and Financial Oversight:
  • Manage third-party suppliers, ensuring they meet deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Follow established escalation procedures for resource issues, project delays, and missed deadlines.
  • Secure agreement on commercial project milestones and invoice issuance based on those milestones or completed deliverables.
  • Manage project expenditures, meticulously recording all costs against delivered products and services.
Communication and Improvement:
  • Craft and manage a comprehensive stakeholder plan encompassing all project work streams.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders from various departments.
  • Continuously identify and implement methods to streamline project delivery.
Quality and Risk Management:
  • Guarantee on-time, on-budget delivery of products and services that meet required quality standards.
  • Monitor projects proactively, ensuring timely issue resolution and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Conduct project reviews to pinpoint areas for improvement in future program/project delivery regarding cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Compliance and Professionalism:
  • Strictly adhere to all company health, safety, environmental, and quality policies and standards.
  • Be prepared to undertake additional tasks as required by the business.


Project Manager Requirements:
  • Proven PRINCE2 Practitioner: Possess a PRINCE2 Practitioner certification and demonstrably apply its methodology to project management.
  • MS Project Mastery: Demonstrate proficiency in using MS Project for planning, scheduling, and tracking project activities.
  • Communication Virtuoso: Excel in communication and diplomacy, with a strong ability to persuade and influence clients and stakeholders.
  • Technical Project Delivery Expertise: Have experience delivering projects within a technical environment, understanding the specific challenges and considerations.
  • Third-Party Vendor Management Savvy: Possess experience in managing deliverables through third-party vendors, ensuring successful execution.
  • Complex Project Champion: Show a demonstrable track record of successfully delivering projects within complex technical environments or with demanding resource requirements over extended periods.
  • Financial Acumen: Possess a strong understanding of project budgeting and manage project expenses effectively.
  • Issue Resolution Prowess: Demonstrate a history of resolving critical issues that threatened to delay or disrupt project goals, whether resource-related, budgetary, or concerning stakeholders.
  • Leadership Excellence: Have extensive experience leading and inspiring project teams to achieve success

Additional Requirement:
SC Clearance Eligibility: Due to the nature of the work, all applicants must be eligible to obtain SC security clearance
