Generalist Adviser - Foodbanks
- Salary: £28,711 pa FTE, (Pro Rata to 0.6)
- Hours / work pattern: 21.0 hrs / Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Contract: Generalist Adviser- Foodbanks – Fixed term until 30-11-25 (extension possible)
- Location: Main office (BS1) and outreach across Bristol
We are seeking someone who is passionate about giving an effective generalist advice service to those most in need. You will thrive in a busy and challenging environment and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. The post holder will have previous experience of providing advice with the confidence and knowledge to work independently, providing support to foodbank service users in locations across Bristol with matters including but not limited to:
- Housing, employment, immigration (OISC Level1), debt and benefits
- Income maximisation and debt advice on priority and non priority debts including managing renegotiating key debts
- Referring on to specialist teams for complex debt advice.
- Conducting benefit checks and applying for welfare benefits
- Progressing welfare benefit claims up to the point of tackling independent appeals – including PIP, ESA and Universal Credit – and supporting Work Capability applications.
