Assistant Manager – Are you a passionate and reliable Assistant Manager ready to host guests and lead a team? You will be trained and have fun whilst working in a beautiful location, with good pay and generous tips.

If so, Spider is advertising for an Assistant Manager on behalf of an independently owned eighteenth-century coaching inn nestled in Potton's ancient market square in Potton, Bedfordshire.

About the role:

You support the General Manager and oversee the smooth running of the day-to-day operations, planning and supervising the activities of all employees to ensure the profitable running of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Controlling expenditure within the business
  • Ensure team members achieve guest satisfaction targets through on-job coaching
  • Assist in recruiting, training and managing employees
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety and food hygiene checks ensuring that they are completed and recorded
  • Plan work schedules for the team
  • Assist in the implementing and reviewing standard operating procedures to continuously improve a business
  • Assist in monitoring employee performance and offering regular evaluation meetings designed to improve service
  • Assist in the development of efficient and effective marketing strategy to promote the business
  • Responsibility for all EPOS updates and ad hoc projects as required

As the successful Assistant Manager, you will possess strong leadership skills to motivate and guide employees. You will have a solid understanding of business processes and operational efficiency, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. With excellent customer service skills, you will strive to deliver exceptional experiences for the guests. A professional appearance and calm demeanour are essential, as is the ability to make informed decisions and solve problems effectively. Additionally, you will be highly organised and able to manage your time efficiently, handling the varied demands of this fast-paced role.
