Finance Manager (Central)

Role Purpose

To provide a high quality, end to end financial management service to the Head of Finance, Financial Director, Managing Director and senior management team of The Wilmott Group Ltd, WB Power Services Ltd and Wiltech Acoustics Ltd.

To provide effective line management, leadership and development to the Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant and drive excellence in all financial and control related matters.

To work closely with other members of the finance and senior management teams to ensure that profit and cash are maximised, performance reporting, planning and business controls are delivered effectively.

Key Deliverables:-

• Preparation and consolidation of financial reporting across the business units and group in order to ensure that planned and actual performance is reported effectively and understood by the Senior Management Team.
• Control of the balance sheet to ensure that it is always accurately reflective of the true financial position for the business.
• Management of the bank account and banking relationships in partnership with Finance Director and Head of Finance. Management of cashflows to ensure that these are fully understood and planned appropriately.
• Overview of the internal control environment, working closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Managers to identify any areas for improvement and implementation of improvement measures.
• Management of all aspects of taxation such as corporation tax, CIS, VAT etc.
• Deliver an effective financial management service for the central functions and costs including delivery of budgets, forecasts and actual performance ensuring that these are properly communicated and understood by key stakeholders.
• Work as a core part of the team to ensure that external compliance processes such as audit are delivered effectively.
• Work closely with other areas of the finance team, the Head of Finance and other reports to the Finance Director, to ensure that overall objectives are delivered.
• Ensure that the balance sheet position relating to the central functions is always controlled and reflective of the correct financial position.
• Provision of effective line management, leadership and development to the Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Assistant.
• Ad hoc investigations and projects as requested by the Head of Finance, Finance Director, Managing Director and Senior Management Team.

Person Specification:-

• Qualified accountant, with previous experience of delivering effective reporting, cash management and governance processes in a central finance function.
• Highly collegiate approach. Creator of strong working relationships at all levels, across functional boundaries.
• Able to report, communicate and influence effectively across the business and at all levels with a clear focus upon driving improvements to profit and cash.
• Strong commercial and control focused mind set with high levels of personal resilience.
• Highly experienced in the use of ERP systems and knowledgeable regarding the impact of business processes upon financial reporting and controls.
• Natural team based approach.
• Strong skill set in working with Microsoft Office tools.
• Highly proactive approach with strong planning skills.
