The Job role of a Maintenance Fitter?
Working as a mechanical fitter within a small team to ensure all site plant and equipment are kept within good working order as well supporting project installations.
- Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to determine the specifications and requirements for each project
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to assemble and fabricate metal components
- Perform various welding techniques, such as stick welding, to join metal parts together
- Measure and cut materials to the required dimensions using basic math skills
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy, making any necessary adjustments or repairs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient work-flow and timely completion of projects
- Monday to Friday Day shift with overtime available
What do you need to be successful as a Maintenance Fitter?
Working as a maintenance fitter you will need a strong industrial background and flexible approach to work
- Minimum L2 qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum L3 qualification in Fabrication and Welding
- Previous experience in a similar role e.g. Maintenance fitter, Mechanical fitter, Site Engineer, Project fitter
- Heavy industrial experience highly desirable
- Previous experience on yellow plant highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of fabrication techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
