Our esteemed Tier 1 client is engaged in a significant multimillion-pound enhancement of a critical wastewater treatment facility in West Yorkshire. The projects primary aim is to elevate the water quality of a local river by reducing the discharge of untreated wastewater and lowering Phosphorus levels in treated effluents. This comprehensive project includes the installation of a new storm tank, upgrading treatment processes, and modernising existing assets, reflecting the clients dedication to environmental sustainability and community health. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Works Manager/Site Supervisor to take charge of the on-site execution of this pivotal wastewater treatment works project in West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring that all project aspects align with the client’s objectives, schedules, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the on-site execution of the wastewater treatment works project.
• Coordinate effectively with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Oversee the installation of a new storm tank and associated infrastructure to increase storage capacity and reduce untreated discharges.
• Supervise the installation of chemical dosing units and other treatment processes aimed at decreasing Phosphorus levels in treated wastewater.
• Ensure the modernisation of existing assets is carried out to the highest standards and meets project specifications.
• Ensure all work adheres to environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and the client’s policies.
• Implement quality assurance and control measures to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage and lead a diverse team of construction workers, engineers, and subcontractors on-site.
• Liaise with the client’s project manager and other key stakeholders to ensure the project remains aligned with client expectations.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with the client, contractors, regulatory bodies, and the local community.
• Provide regular project updates and promptly address any issues or concerns that arise.
• Engage with local stakeholders to ensure project transparency and foster positive community relations.
• Identify potential risks early and develop strategies to mitigate project disruptions.
• Enforce rigorous health and safety protocols to guarantee a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective cost control measures.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Proven experience in a Works Manager or Site Supervisor role within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Extensive knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
• Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field are highly desirable.
