Our client is a specialist asset data, document management and quality assurance / control provider who require an experienced Engineer (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) to design, implement, and optimise maintenance strategies within the SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) framework for clients throughout South Wales. This position is a hybrid role which will allow for home working together with occasional plant / site visits.

The role;

To develop data structures within Asset Data Management systems to represent real-world machines (Assets) and equipment to allow plant engineers and maintenance practitioners (technicians) to operate the plant to its full lifecycle potential.  Work could cover anywhere from West Wales to Bristol and surrounding areas of Bristol.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and implement SAP EAM modules to support maintenance strategies.
  • Customize SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) to meet the specific needs of the organization.
  • Develop and document preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies within SAP.
  • Integrate reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) and total productive maintenance (TPM) principles into SAP processes.
  • Continuously optimize SAP EAM configurations to improve maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SAP EAM users.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance within SAP for all physical assets.
  • Use SAP reporting tools to analyse maintenance data and generate actionable insights.
  • Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for maintenance staff on SAP EAM functionalities.
  • Create detailed documentation for SAP EAM processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with IT, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment of SAP EAM with business objectives.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and SAP support for advanced troubleshooting and system enhancements.
  • Ensure that maintenance strategies within SAP comply with industry regulations and standards.
  • Implement best practices for asset management and maintenance within the SAP framework.

Requirements:

  • Educated to degree level in engineering, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP EAM, including configuration and customization.
  • Proficiency in SAP PM and related modules (e.g., MM, QM).
  • Understanding of integration points between SAP EAM and other SAP modules.
  • Strong ability to analyze maintenance data and develop data-driven strategies.
  • Experience with SAP reporting tools and analytics (e.g., SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Experience managing SAP EAM implementation and optimization projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • SAP certification (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Maintenance & Repair with ERP) is highly desirable.
  • Driver’s License.
