Site Manager/Caretaker

Salary: £13-£17 per hour / Dependent on experience

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, versatile, self-motivated Site Manager/Caretaker, responsible for security, safety and maintenance of a Primary School based in Saltley. The successful candidate will carry out a range of duties ensuring the building, furnishings and site are safe, secure, and maintained to the expected standards of the Governing Body. Experience of a similar role is essential, with knowledge of Health & Safety legislation desirable. The opening and closing of the school is a requirement for the role. .

Hours are 30hrs per week for the right Caretaker, working generally between 7-10am to open the school and make sure it is safe and also 2-5pm to close the school safely and get it ready for the next day. The role is to cover sickness for the current caretaker and has the chance to receive a longer term position. Lettings and school events during the school week may require later working for which additional hours are paid.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) clearance is required for this role.
