Career Teachers are seeking a qualified Teacher (QTS / QTLS) with experience of teaching Religious Education at KS3 and 4, for a secondary school based in Sandwell. This is a full-time, temporary role to start September 2024.

You will be working in a vibrant and inclusive school who are committed to fostering academic excellence and holistic development. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join their staff team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching RE, possess strong subject knowledge and be committed to nurturing students understanding of diverse religious traditions and ethical perspectives. The additional experience of teaching Sociology would be advantageous, but not essential.

As a Religious Education (RE) Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging RE lessons in accordance with the national curriculum. Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Religious Education, Theology, or a related field.
  • Teaching certificate and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience teaching Religious Education (RE) at KS3-4.
  • Additional experience of teaching Sociology KS5 would be advantageous.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student achievement
  • Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS check on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding training; Career Teachers offer FREE online Safeguarding training
  • Provide a full 10-year career history and references to cover the last 2 years including current and previous employers.
